13-01-2021 Breman Bending: large and complex platework in Genemuiden

With Breman Bending, we have established a specialised department in Genemuiden for large and complex bending and rolling work. The new facility is equipped with an extensive range of LVD machinery, allowing us to cut and bend large and heavy plate components.

One of the highlights is the LVD Taurus laser cutting machine, with a net cutting area of 18 × 3.5 metres and a 10 kW fibre laser. This allows us to laser-cut material up to 30 mm thick. The machine is also equipped with a bevel head, enabling angled cuts to be made.

For plate storage, the facility has a storage system with 64 storage locations, each with a load capacity of 5 tonnes. The system is suitable for plates measuring up to 6 × 2 metres.

We also have substantial bending capacity. An existing 3,000-tonne press brake with an 8-metre working length was relocated to Genemuiden and completely retrofitted. This machine can bend material up to 100 mm thick. In addition, Breman Bending has two new Easy-Form press brakes, rated at 1,600 tonnes with 8,700 mm and 800 tonnes with 6,100 mm, respectively.

From machinery to digital production planning

The machines are supported by LVD's CADMAN software. This digitally connects processes such as production preparation, laser cutting, bending and production planning. The software can automatically calculate the unfolding, bending sequence and required tooling during the preparation process.

This combination of large-scale machinery, high capacity and digital production preparation fits the projects we carry out at Breman Bending for sectors including offshore, oil & gas, aerospace, crane building and offshore wind energy.
