Extreme precision for the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm

For the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm in Norway, we machined eleven large bottom sections at Breman Machinery. These components, weighing up to approximately 180 tonnes, were machined in our facility in Genemuiden to extremely tight tolerances.

In addition to the precision machining, the logistics surrounding the project were an important part of the operation. The large components were transported from Bilbao to Genemuiden via Rotterdam and returned after machining.

MetaalNieuws has published an in-depth article about the project, covering the machining operations, the required accuracy of ±0.2 mm and the logistics involved in handling all eleven components.
