21-10-2020 Monopile gripper frame for a transport and installation vessel

One of our major projects involved the manufacture of a monopile gripper frame for a wind farm contractor, which had to be placed on an advanced transport and installation vessel to be delivered at sea.

This monopile gripper is designed to guide mono pipes with a diameter of 11 metres during pile-driving. We worked closely with the designer during the development phase and regularly tested for manufacturability.

This enabled us to provide added value from the original sketch to the end product. We welded, processed and protected all components from corrosion in Genemuiden. The assembly and testing were carried out in IJmuiden, where we also arranged the transport.
